1998 - Deep Impact - The President announces a major global catastophe (Morgan Freeman)

This is a morality tale of how people should deal with evil in today's world. If you look at today's world, things clearly are not going very well. In this movie, the President of the United States has to explain to the world that an unimaginable disaster is going to happen. He tries to follow his public relations script but then he just tosses it aside and talks directly to the world. It is an interesting moment where a leader confronts his concept of who God is. It is an issue that has been discussed by the philosophical and religious leaders of the world since the beginning of time. Why does God allow catastrophes to take place? We don't pretend to have a simple answer and the President does not present one in this movie. But he does present an honest statement of faith that could relate even to people who are not religious. That's why you should watch this video.
